I have had a request about learning more technique while moving with Nia to optimize your workout.
With this in mind I have developed a workshop that will improve your technique, to improve your body conditioning and results from Nia.
We will pick out some of the 52 moves and look individually at which muscles and how they are being conditioned to change your body shape and your improve your movement.
Learn how to recruit more of the 'core' when moving to condition the muscles that support the spine and abdominals.
I would be delighted to put this together along with your input and questions so I can personalize this workshop for you.

This workshop is for women only - to improve control of the pelvic floor- whether you are looking to help incontinence, or your awareness of the pelvic floor, to improve your overall core strength, or to improve your sex life , wanting anti or post natel information, this workshop will give exercises, and knowledge about the pelvic floor. It will also include a discussion about pelvic floor exercise equipment eg cones/ weights/ ben wa balls.

The way we breathe directly affects our sense of vitality, our energy , our moods, our emotions, brain chemistry, our nrevous system, our hormones
and our sense of feeling 'ALIVE'
Stress, emotions and incorrect breathing can lead into an ever perpertuating loop that leaves us unable to break the stress cycle which can result in a huge a array of health problems including IBS, panic attacks, high blood pressure, palpatations, sleep problems, anxiety. The cycle can be broken with simple techniques , and knowledge of how we breath , to bring about change helping the above conditions thus improving health and increasing our vitality.

- Diaphragmatic breathing....how to take a real deep breath ( most of us only use 10/20 % of our lung capacity.

This workshop is Essential if you are new, or need refreshing before you join the Pilates classes in Rossendale and is aimed at men and women.
Often People have develped strength in incorrect muscles to protect back pain, or simply learned 'bad' habits of moving, causing stiffness, inflexability, restriction, adding long term to our instability, therefore causing pain.
The 'six pack' muscles that are often desired in our western society by some men and women are muscles which are actually the icing on the cake and not the substance of a toned and supporting, functional waist and back.
The strengthening and use of the pelvic floor is often overlooked and misunderstood in its value for men and so often when asked to use their pelvic floor muscles , men are often baffled as to why or what they are. Men have pelvic floor muscles just the same as women and yes it is true they are not put under as much strain they are still valuable to your health (prostate health) and sex life. However ....
The pelvic floor are part of the ' team' muscles required
for core stability and strength.

Strong, Supple, Sensuous, Spine.
This workshop looks at a part of ourselves we don't see very often, our back, but is essential to our overall wellbeing. Our BACKS can be the source of much pleasure and an often overlooked area of sensuosness and erotic beauty. Our spines provide the core of our support , and protect the spinal cord. Nerves travel down the spine and then emerge to various parts of our body- eg skin, organs, muscles. All senses are activated by the spine and its nerves that communicate with the external and internal world. Movement increases the rate and amount of information your body can process.
This workshop on Back Care in Rossendale will cover the anatomy of the spine and surrounding muscles and how we can provide strength, support and alignment to our body. We will explore ways of how we can keep our backs supple, fluid and an awareness of how and where we direct the energy flow through our spine and our body.
The Nia routine danced will be 'Sexi' This workshop will allow much more awareness of the spine and allow to to delve deeper into the benefits of the Sexi routine.

The alignment of the 3 body weights affects your health and your overall sense of well being. Every organ in your body is affected by the 3 body weights. A head out of balance inhibits eyesight and adds stress to vocal chords. a chest out of alignment fatigues the body, a pelvis out of alignment reduce core strength and creates overall body weakness due to immobility of the spine. To heal your body, the organs and your spine keep the 3 body weights softly aligned. This workshop will give you chance to explore the 3 body weights individually so you have time to get a sense of the them, how they feel, where they are, the expression of each in stillness and in movement.

Nia blends Freedom with Form.

By playing with the 9 movements in Nia it allows us a sensory taste of each one.

There are seven power centers in your body, called chakras. The stateof each chakra reflects the health of a particular area of your body.
It also reflects your psychological, emotional and spiritual well-being.
Every thought and experience you've ever had in your life gets filtered through these chakra databases. Each event is recorded into your cells. In other words, your biography becomes your biology." When chakra energy is blocked or misdirected, emotional and physical illness can arise.
Each Chakra has an associated vibration. These vibrations correspond to specific frequencies produced by the brain. Sound is a very effective way of healing and balancing the chakras- Ideal for those of us that do Nia!
